IIM Shillong Toastmasters Club was started in November 2017 by the efforts of our current members. In just a few months from its inception, it has grown to become one of the successful clubs of IIM Shillong. The objective of this club is to impart leadership training through the process of self-improvement so that participants may increase their public speaking and communication skills. The overwhelming support from the students and the administration has helped to escalate the speed of the growth of this club. Currently, the club conducts weekly meetings where prepared speeches are delivered as per toastmaster’s education materials. Also, Impromptu speeches on selected themes are given by the members, after which, a comprehensive evaluation takes place for all the participants.
The IIM Shillong Toastmasters club adopts the “learning by practicing” model that helps in sharpening the emotional, intellectual and sensible skills of participants. With the continuous guidance from Area Officers of Toastmasters International, the participants have come a long way and now, looking forward to develop corporate interactions and formal on and off campus experiences of professionalism.
We, in the club, provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. To make everyone well versed with public speaking skills and how this creates an impact on personality development.
To be the first-choice provider of dynamic, high-value, experiential communication and leadership skills development.
